About Tony O'Brien Builder Inc.

My name is Tony O'Brien and since 1986 I have owned and operated Tony O'Brien Builder Inc., a small remodeling company specializing in kitchen and bath remodeling, basement finishing, sun rooms and porches, additions and other renovations to help people transform their homes into areas that are more useful and pleasing.

The process starts by looking at the space and talking about the project. What the homeowner is thinking they might like, and what kind of budget they have in mind. We can then start to develop an idea of what is feasible and realistic. Sometimes the answer is changing a vanity and lighting. Other times it's gutting an area and starting over. Or putting on an addition to create needed space.

Whether the project is large or small, the process is similar:

  • Evaluate the existing
  • Develop a plan consistent with the budget
  • Estimate the job as accurately as possible
  • Start to build the project.
  • Continuously manage the project, monitoring the progress, spotting problems and working out solutions to problems that are encountered.
  • Use attention to detail to see that the project progresses in a timely and quality conscious manner.
  • Complete the project to the client's satisfaction

As you can imagine, there is a lot of interaction between the client and the contractor. Each party needs to feel sure that they will be compatible with the other. If they are not comfortable, they should not do business. Life is too short. I have been through the process many times. I work with a group of professionals that are knowledgeable and helpful. These are people who can be counted on to show up and perform a timely and quality service. People who are willing to work together for a common solution when situations arise, which they will. I am very fortunate to have these people in my life. They make my job so much easier and enjoyable.

You will have me involved every step of the way, from design through construction. When there are questions and concerns, you can work them out with me. Because of this, I only take on a limited number of projects - only what I can manage effectively. I give each project as much time as is required to assure it is moving forward on track. I am responsible to you for your project - start to finish.
